Orthodoxy 101

This six-week lecture series will begin on Wednesday, October 5th and will continue every Wednesday through November 9th.  The sessions will be held from 6:30-7:45 p.m. in the Philoptochos Room immediately after the 5:30 PM Paraklesis (Supplication) Service.  Topics of discussion will include: The True God revealed as Trinity in the Scripture; Who is Jesus Christ and the early Christologic controversies; Sin and Salvation; What is the Church; Repentance and an Historical Overview of the Sacrament of Confession.  In addition, we will dedicate time to the discussion of contemporary issues facing the Church.  Each lecture will last approximately 45-50 minutes and participants' questions will be addressed at each session.  Fr. Demetrios Tsikouris is a former University Professor, with over 15 years of formal teaching experience, and will be offering each session.
Concurrently, a fun and edifying class, called "All About the Saints" will be offered to all youth and will be held at the same time in the St. George Youth Room.  This will allow both adults and youth to benefit from the religious education programs of our parish.  This class will be guided by Mrs. Louise Heusel and Presvytera Shelly Tsikouris.
